This morning I was sickened by the article on the “Chocolate Jesus” listed on the sideboard. Sickened I say – but not surprised. This old world has long been undermining true Christianity. It is not enough to make a chocolate Christ, thus making Him equal to the easter bunny, but the artist depicted Him also, thus stripping every last shred of decency and dignity from the matter. And don’t believe the lies about the timing, about it being coincidental. The devil knows when to strike the shrewdest blow.
This leads me to ask a question. Is God living, powerful, and alive in your life? Or is He relegated to a chocolate symbol, powerless, commercialized and contemptible?
2 Timothy 3:13-17 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
